Moved In ... Almost

So 2 weeks ago we picked up Vinny! He was quite stressed out the first few days, but he's definitely settling into a bit of rhythm now and is just like the Vinny we all love so much. Right after we got him, we had a "fun" weekend with no furniture except for a blow-up air mattress and our clothes. Oh yeah, and a wine opener with its little knife was our only utensil!

Alas, our furniture arrived on Monday last week, after a bit of problem with the shipping company. It seems that the guys responsible for unloading our stuff showed up on Monday, but the container of stuff wasn't to arrive until Wednesday. Well, Annelies took care of that right away and we got most of our things on Monday! One of our couches wouldn't fit in the elevator, so we'll probably have to sell it.

In the meantime, I had to travel to Paris and Hamburg for work (meeting with Google and Yahoo for FR and DE...). I left poor Annelies alone with Vinny to start unpacking some of our things. She did a great job! This past weekend we spent all day on Saturday and Sunday unpacking our items. At this point, I would say that we're about 80% done; the place is starting to feel much more like home! However, we've had to be a bit creative to fit all the items of a 3 BR house + garage into a small 1 1/2 BR London flat w/ no garage. :) I suppose we'll go through another round of throwing things away until we get to the right size!

Last night we booked a holiday vacation to go to Seville & Granada (Spain) over the Easter holiday. In the UK, you get a 4-day weekend for Easter. So we're taking an extra day off and heading for the land of sun and Sangria! We can't wait!

I'm hoping to have broadband internet access at home by as early as March 10th (that's right, almost 3 weeks away...this is record fast around London ;). Then we should be able to start posting more pictures on the blog; so stay tuned!!
