Off to Tanzania

So today we're about ready to embark on our safari journey to Africa! We're finally all packed and ready to go, received all of the necessary immunizations, started taking our anti-malarial pills, stocked up on mosquito repellant, and charged the camera's battery!

In a few hours we'll meet up with Annelies' parents, board a flight headed for Nairobi, Kenya and hopefully catch a few hours of sleep on the long overnight flight into eastern Africa. In the morning we'll then board another flight to Kilimanjaro airport in Tanzania, where we'll transfer to the tourist city of Arusha to stock up on Tanzanian shillings and water. From there we'll have a few days on safari in the Serengeti game park and then to Ngorongoro crater. We'll round out the trip on the history-rich island of Zanzibar, soaking up a bit of sun and relaxing.

We're both very excited about the trip, as it should be quite an adventure! We hope everyone is doing well and can't wait to share our pictures and our stories when we return! Lots of love,
